Supporting the Sustainable Development Goals: A context sensitive indicator for sustainable use of water at the facility level

This paper presents a low-cost and scalable method for providing sustainable water allocation enterprises based on the hydrological, economic, demographic contexts of their facilities. Context-based performance indicators are vital effectively monitoring achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Currently, SDGs consist 17 goals that associated with 169 targets 232 indicators. Making valid objective measurements represents significant challenge scientists policy makers. Achieving will likely involve efforts in developing sustaining systems status progress, incentives, conducting enforcement. Provision Performance Indicators (SDPIs) progress at high spatial temporal resolution is essential effective management by governments businesses. The allocations we produce facility's total consumptive use water, contribution to gross domestic product (GDP), number full-time employees, population GDP several geographic contexts, annually specific hydrological balance (i.e., precipitation minus evapotranspiration) those contexts. related sustainability assessments determined range (circular regions centered facility radii 10, 50, 100, 200, 300 km respectively). From data give priority ‘Water Nature’ allocate proportion remaining Economy’ employees they have. compared actual withdrawals provide an indication economic activity.
